The first stadium of its size to utilize a retractable roof, NRG Stadium will play host to Super Bowl LI on Sunday, February 5th. The grandiose, high-performance venue will serve as an appropriate backdrop to a clash between two of the NFL’s most dynamic offenses, not to mention the pomp and circumstance that coincides with the world’s greatest sporting spectacle.
Houston’s NRG Stadium is one of dozens across the United States to feature CENTRIA exterior metal building products. The flashy metallic façade showcases over 250,000 square feet of CENTRIA’s flagship product, Formawall Dimension Series insulated metal panels (IMPs) in multiple shades of silver. Other CENTRIA products include IW Series single-skin concealed fastener panels and nearly 175,000 square feet of EcoScreen perforated screenwall.
In January, the NFL said goodbye to the historic Georgia Dome when the Atlanta Falcons defeated the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship. The legendary stadium was the largest covered venue in the world when it opened in 1992, and has since hosted multiple NCAA Final Four Basketball Championships, countless NFL and NCAA football games, the annual Peach Bowl and a pair of Super Bowls in 1994 and 2000.
Just next door, construction is underway at the new, extravagant Mercedes Benz Stadium. Both projects feature CENTRIA's high-performance Formawall Dimension Series IMPs prominently, showcasing both the high-performance elements and world-class aesthetics this product has to offer.
But CENTRIA’s impact on NFL venues goes beyond the current title contenders. In fact, CENTRIA has provided material for 21 venues, or nearly 70 percent of NFL Stadiums. In Pennsylvania, CENTRIA products are a staple of Heinz Field, home of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Lincoln Financial Field, home of the Philadelphia Eagles. The massive AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, features a wealth of CENTRIA products, including Formawall and Versawall IMPs. Even some of the latest additions to the league’s list of venues showcase CENTRIA exterior metal panels, such as U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, home of the Vikings; MetLife Stadium in the Meadowlands, home of the New York Giants and New York Jets; and Levi's Stadium, home of the San Francisco 49ers.
One of the most prominent and recognizable dome's in the nation, the University of Phoenix Stadium, features thousands of square feet of Formawall Dimension Series IMPs on it's sleek, curved exterior—designed to resemble a desert cactus. Home of the NFL's Phoenix Cardinals, the famous venue has hosted numerous BCS National Championship games and the occasional Super Bowl of its own. Our products are also featured prominently on Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati, FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland, Sports Authority Field at Mile High Stadium in Denver, Soldier's Field in Chicago, Everbank Field in Jacksonville, Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, CenturyLink Field in Seattle, Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Hard Rock Stadium in Miami and other venues.
Whether they're rooting for New England, Atlanta or any of 32 teams located across the nation, architects, building owners and design teams are always winners when they choose CENTRIA.
